Under Defeat is a Japanese-style vertical shoot em up game originally released as a coin-op and later developed for the Sega Dreamcast. There is also a new version available for the XBOX 360 that uses HD graphics.
Under DefeatIn the shoot em up genre, there are no actual stories to be told. In this game, your main purpose is to pilot an advanced combat chopper (or an aircraft) and blow the hell out of the numerous enemies that threaten your people, your country and yourself. So, take off and start causing chaos.

You control your heli (which looks much like an advanced Apache AH-64) and destroy everything in your path using all the weapons you can carry. This game belongs among hundreds of other vertical shooters, but with one difference: You can turn your helicopter's guns to the right (or to the left respectively), apart from shooting vertically. All you have to do is kill, kill and kill again the hordes of your enemies, grab the bonuses (weapons, energy etc), destroy the big bosses and enjoy the action!

Graphically this game is one of the best shoot em ups I've ever played. The screen may be quite small (compared to other shooters), but the action is so intense and your screen gets crowded with numerous flying enemies, plus the ground and naval forces (tanks, army, battleships etc), with no slowdowns at all (this is Dreamcast, remember?). Exploding everything sky-high, shooting, piloting, avoiding obstacles, bombing is followed by great FX since its graphics are vivid and colorful (as most Dreamcast games). Sonically the game is what a decent shooter should be: It uses intense soundtracks and an abundance of stereo sound FX that complete the whole great package.
