Find the Dalton brothers and put them back to jail in a very colorful cartoon-like platform shooter. Lucky Luke was released only for the Philips CD-i system.

Lucky LukeSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Like in all Lucky Luke comics (or games) your main task is to seek the Dalton brothers and bring them back to prison. Lucky Luke is a classic 2D action platform game but a quite tricky one so you won't go far by just running and jumping. Each time you need to know what you're doing. At the first level you start with a simple pistol allowing you to shoot one bullet at a time. When you encounter an enemy you notice his energy level at the top left of the screen. As for you, four bullets are enough to kill you. It requires a little tactics to shoot everyone down, instead of wildly firing all that moves on the screen. Thankfully, the levels are filled with gun update boxes (even dynamite). One click and an eagle will fly over, holding the TNT with its claws and you will be the one to decide when and where it will drop the exploding weapon, killing anyone around. Also you're going to ride your trusty partner, Jolly Jumper! Horse riding is very diverse while the scrolling goes automatic so you must be aware to jump over obstacles like small trees and rocks in time, picking up bonuses and killing all the enemies. It's amazing how SPC managed to develop this kind of action game on the CD-i, really.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics on the CD-i are very impressive, featuring lots of colors and cartoon-style graphics and sprites. The use of the Digital Video Cartridge results in a variety of cool graphic effects. This is the first platform game with different background layers and one that goes higher than just one screen. Also the weather changes from time to time via a neat day and night effect, not to mention rainfall and thunderstorms. As far as the sound, the game does have some pretty decent music as well as a few sampled sound effects. Again, this game is where SPC shines by creating a soundtrack that blends electronica and disco music. You may play it with a normal audio player and experience the sound prowess.
