Navigate the dungeon and stop Vizier before time runs out in an exciting arcade adventures featuring excellent character animations! The game was originally released in 1989 for the Apple II computers, and ported to several home platforms such as Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC,MGT Sam Coupe in 1990 by Brøderbund and on several video-game consoles such as Sega Megadrive/Genesis, Nintendo NES and SNES, Sega Master System, Game Gear in 1992 and more! If you want to see the early stages of Flashback and Another World games then grab a copy of Prince Of Persia! Note that an official version was not developed for the ZX Spectrum from Prince of Persia by Brøderbund but in 1996 there was an official release by Nicodim! A Commodore 64 version was never developed!
Prince of PersiaEvil Jaffar (vizier of the Shah of Persia, the last wondering in a war far away from his kingdom) locks the Persian Princess giving her an ultimatum; marry Jaffar, or die within an hour. Navigate the dungeon (where the Princess is imprisoned) and stop Vizier before time runs out! You are facing a variety of resistance along the way. You must avoid deadly traps, solve some simple puzzles and engage in sword fights with the guards. The Princess' room is guarded by Jaffar though... The game offers 12 levels of gameplay, each one being quite difficult, and taking quite a bit of planning ahead to solve, as trigger pads around the map open up previously shut doors allowing access further into the level. A pretty interesting gameplay that sometimes gets a bit frustrating as it is difficult here and there to avoid traps. Released on most of the known 8/16bit home computers and consoles! Now go, you've got 60 minutes!

The graphics on the CPC are pretty good, though inferior to the MGT Sam Coupe. I must admit that all 8bit versions (CPC,ZX,Apple II etc) are awesome. The characters are impressively animated, an asset that made this game popular (apart of its great story and gameplay). Although the main character very little detail, the animation is faultless, and gives a really human fluidity to all the movements. The frame-set being used is identical to the far superior 16bit systems and this makes that particular game, a diamond for the 8bit systems! As far as the sound, the game features the original intro tune as well as in-game SFX (cracks, thuds, spears etc).

Amstrad CPC 464/664/6128

Amstrad CPC 464/664/6128CPU: ZiLOG Z80 4MHZ
MEMORY: 64 KB or 128 KB of RAM depending on the model (capable of being expanded to 512k using memory extension boards)
GRAPHICS: Motorola 6845 address generator, Mode 0: 160x200 / 16 colors, Mode 1: 320x200 / 4 colors, Mode 2: 640x200 / 2 colors, A colour palette of 27 colors was supported
SOUND: The CPC used the General Instrument AY-3-8912 sound chip, providing 3 channels Mono Sound (via internal speaker) but capable to offer Stereo Sound provided through a 3.5 mm headphones jack (with pretty impressive outcome!). Also, it is possible to play back digital sound samples at a resolution of approximately 5bit. This technique is very processor-intensive though.

Άλλο κάψιμο με αυτήν την παιχνιδάρα. Δεν μπόρεσα ποτέ να το τελειώσω, ούτε στον CPC ούτε σε κανένα άλλο υπολογιστή.
