Ridge Racer is a great racing game originally released on the arcades by Namco and later converted to the Sony PSX (two versions) in 1994 and 1996 and to the N64 in 1999.

Review
Ridge RacerSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Namco's classic Ridge Racer coin-op game hit the PSX / PSOne in 1995 and 1996 as Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Evolution respectively. This conversion is a great example that showcases Playstation's power in 3D racing games. The game's main goal is to finish each level on the 1st place and features 10-15 cars many of which must be unlocked and obtained later on. The game's mechanics allows players to use full degree power-slides to zip around sharp turns without losing speed. Ridge Racer also supports a two-player mode, via split screen.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
RR looks so good on the PSX console! It has a solid frame-rate, speed and beautiful visual details, pretty close to the original arcade version. The vehicles are somewhat low in polygon-count, but this doesn't affect the whole experience; on the contrary, this game rocks for sure! The sound features some cool clubbing beats and real car sound effects. RR is one of the best racers ever appeared on Sony's award-winning 32bit console so it's a must for every PSX owner.
