Alien SoldierSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Year: 2015. Location: A-Earth. The A-Humans (inhabitants of the planet) have developed genetically altered human beings that possess extreme AI and power. This species is also capable of co-existing with machinery and animals, interfering with their actions and own will. The main enemy is SCARLET, a terrorist group that plans to dominate and conquer A-Earth and its inhabitants. SCARLET's leader, called Epsilon-Eagle suddenly falls victim of an assassination attempt that caused him severe injuries and made him vanish, seemingly forever. Following the assassination attempt, another SCARLET member named XI-Tiger took control of the group and changed almost everything. Under XI-Tiger's orders, SCARLET became more aggressive; an almost barbaric group! This situation frustrated even some of their own members, so they decided to seek Epsilon-Eagle and ask him to re-gain his leadership. In the meantime -and feeling threatened by the Eagle's possible return- Xi-Tiger decided to act on his own, setting off to kill Epsilon-Eagle. But he needed a new army. XI-Tiger ends up on a scientific facility that hosts children with special abilities and powers. Among these children, Epsilon-Eagle is hiding inside a boy's body and XI-Tiger senses his presence. Kidnapping a young girl and threatening to kill her, XI-Tiger forces Eagle to show himself and surrender. Eagle reveals himself and the...insane battle begins!

GRAPHICS / SOUND
Technically, Alien Soldier features multiple, nicely drawn, backgrounds, extremely fast action and high-levels of parallax-scrolling, techniques found in more powerful machines (like the coin-op arcades). Of note: During the game's intro sequence, you see a message claiming that the Megadrive's MC68000 CPU will "get on fire"! This warning clearly shows that the console will come to its limits.
The game's sound is incredible! It features different in-game powerful music scores and arcade-quality sound FX.

OVERALL
Alien Soldier is a great action shooting game that will keep you occupied for some time since it offers great gameplay elements and intense action through its 25 levels.
